My best travel memories were a result of staying in hostels. It’s all started because I was in a low budget situation and need the cheapest place possible. And I’m so glad I met the hostel world, now it’s my favorite type of accommodation so far!!!

What’s the Difference Between Hostels and Hotels?
The two big differences are price and privacy.
Hostels are cheaper, but you also have to be open to share all the spaces. You will spend time with people you don’t know, so you should be nice, respectful, don’t make noise during sleep time… It’s a big family!
Hotels are the kind of accommodation when you need more privacy and comfort. On the other hand, the guests almost never speak to each other and you don’t have that community spirit to share your experiences. If you have sleeping problems or are not in the socializing mood this is the best option for you.
It’s all about finding what works for you and your travel style.

Are hostels really dangerous?
Hostels are actually really safer than most people thinks! They have friendly staffs who generally work and live in the hostel. You can put your valuable things in a locker and sometimes the place have security cameras installed. If you are ever uncomfortable or don’t feel safe, then tell the staff and ask for a room change.
How long can you stay in hostel?
As a guest usually you can stay between 2 weeks – 4 weeks. It’s depends of each one policy. But if you work in a hostel, doing a work exchange or volunteering, you can stay longer, like 1 month – 3 months.

THE KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM MY HOSTEL’S EXPERIENCE:
(1.) Travelers are genuinely good-hearted in nature. If you apply basic common sense and manners, then you will experience this in return;
(2.) Don’t be afraid to ask! Don’t be afraid to connect with people and to change your plans.
(3.) Hostels do over more than just “cheap accommodations.” Because of them you will meet people like you and could join them to do awesome things you couldn’t ever think just by yourself.
(4.) If you want something in life, then go for it. Start searching, planning and don’t let money fears paralyze you.
